 | This file (Link) should be in the mail on its way to your house. Please, please feel free to print it out and send in reservations. All reservations needed by June 1st with payment in full. Also, I cannot locate all mailing addresses. I know I am missing: Mark Spicer, Tony Mastrianni, Teddy Reiter, Darlene Arner, Andrea Butcher, Bill Ertle, Jay Danielson, Patti Eddy, Jane Eaglowski, and a number of others. The missing above are ones I should have had from one of our previous reunions, but cannot locate. Please spread the word regarding our reunion plans, and give my contact number.
I appreciate your help. ~Vickie Layton Roe

 | Please forward your home mailing address (snail mail) to me. I will send out an email at the first of the year requesting reservations, & a regular mailing after Feb. 1st, 2007 for those that prefer. Include a contact phone number in all correspondence, i.e. when you send payment; and how many for which events --- be explicit. It really helps out with the record keeping. Reminder to log on to our website, listed below, if you haven't already. If you are having problems when logging into the website, please click on the 'webmaster' if you are still having problems, send me your name, email address, and contact number and I will forward the information to our webmaster, David Wilson. Reservations will begin being accepted (checks) after the first of the year. All payment will need to be paid at least 4 weeks in advance for checks to clear and to hold a spot. We cannot accept walkins for the dinner as it gets too complicated for the hosting restaurant. http://www.whsclassof82.org/
If you haven't already done so, log onto our website to see the choices for our 25 year reunion, to be held July 13 - 15. Events begin on Friday with a mixer at the 356 ($10 pp includes DJ/band & appetizers), dinner on Saturday at The Legends in Massillon ($35 pp/open bar for 4 hours beer & wine), and a family get together/picnic on Sunday at Baylor Beach ($5 pp advance ticket sales; bring covered dish or chips, etc). Pricing information is listed on our website in the last two postings of information, and also on the calendar, July 2007. Reservations can be made after the first of January. I am currently in contact with a company that takes photos of the event, and of each individual/couple. These are then offered through them for a reasonable fee. Less than a year to go! ~Vickie (Layton) Roe 330-699-2622 --- leave a message & contact number and I'll get back to you! As always, I appreciate your comments and your help spreading the word of our plans. Please forward contact information to our classmates.

 | Final reservations will be in process...and provided all can be scheduled the following were the winners to our event location for our 25 year reunion.
All three months were a tie: June/July/Aug.
Dress: Business casual by a landslide
Fri. & Sat. evenings. Mixer & Dinner event top 3: Lolli's (N. Canton Fri. only) 356 Group (next to CAK airport) Legends (near 21 / 30)
Sunday family day: Baylor Beach (obviously casual - shorts, beach attire) *camping available for those wishing to stay the night. Ph. # will be posted, make your own camping reservations.
I am going to try and schedule Lolli's or 356 for Fri. evening with dinner, and The Legends for Sat. evening with dinner optional...meaning if you prefer not to attend dinner, you can arrive later for drinks/appetizers.
***Note that Fri. evening, dinner is also optional as there is a lounge at Lolli's prior to the show, or at 356 the lounge is open with band/DJ. There may be a cover charge at 356 if you do not come for dinner.
Again, these are the voting results and final confirmation will be posted once reservations have been made.
Thanks to all who participated in posting your choices! Also, thanks to all that have signed up for our class website! Continue to help spread the word so we can keep in contact!
Sincerely, Vickie Layton Roe 330-699-2622 3800 Glen Eagles Blvd. Apt. 222 Uniontown, OH 44685

 | 25 year class reunion choices of events | | | |
 | Hello everyone, I hope this finds each of you doing well in your lives and ready to share moments with your former classmates next year. One suggestion submitted is to have each of us submit a photo or two (then, now, family, you name it) and present it on a slide show during the reunion. Is there anyone with the capabilities and time to take this on?? Please contact me if you are interested. Below are choices for our Class Reunion weekend. Please email, or call me (330-699-2622 leave a message, I screen calls) with your choice for each event. You should have a maximum of 5 choices to respond to me --vroe@alliancelink.com If you absolutely need to talk to me, leave me your number and best time to reach you. I generally try to use my cell phone on the weekends when I have unlimited minutes, or after 9pm. I will be tallying the choices Sept. 17th so I can start making reservations and relay the results once reservations are made. The final choices will still depend upon the availability of the locations chosen. Two locations listed as available for dinner on Friday evening are not listed for Sat. due to the show only being performed on Fridays. Note that Lolli's would be available for dinner on Sat. also, though the show would not be available, and the pricing would be different then. Some locations that were suggested but are not on this list are due to a lack of response in pricing requests or not having calls returned by the location. We are planning for a summer reunion, 2007. All mixer locations will be a pay for what you order, nothing included, thus no prepay cost. Both the mixer & dinner will be a cash bar. For those worried about drinking and driving, might I suggest a taxi, a limo, or a designated driver. 1. >Month: Please choose one: June / July / August ____________________________________________________________ 2. >Attire: Choose one (for dinner) : This will be noted so as to give others a generalization when they ask what to wear/what dress attire the majority of other classmates plan to wear. ____________________________________________________________ 3. >Friday evening Location choices (mixer/dinner): - BW3 (mixer) - Massillon
- Massillon Club (mixer) - downtown
- 356th Fighter Group - Akron/Canton Airport (mixer or dinner) normally a DJ or band is at the 356 on Fri. & Sat. evenings
- Legends - Massillon near Rt. 21 & 30 (mixer or dinner) golfing available for those interested
- Lolli's (dinner) - 7pm Mystery Dinner Theater, Belden Village $35 pp + tax & gratuity - lounge with saxophonist - Lolli's would be able to accept credit card reservations should this be our choice.
- Mystery Cafe Dinner Theater (dinner) - 7pm Canal Fulton $33 pp + tax & gratuity
___________________________________________________________ 4. >Saturday choices (note dinner / mixer): - 356th Fighter Group - by Akron/Canton airport approx. $28 pp buffet, unlimited soda, includes tax & gratuity (or can get rate to order from menu) - DJ or band on Fri. & Sat. evenings - patio for our use if we have dinner here
- K of C - Massillon - approx. $21 pp buffet, ice cream, sherbet, cake, or pie includes tax & gratuity
- Carousel Dinner Theater - Akron - off Rt. 224 just east of Rt. 77 - approx. $50.50 pp dinner from show menu, show, coffee, tea, includes tax & gratuity. Meeting room available for us to mingle before show.
- Kozmo's (formerly Copper's) - Massillon - approx. $30pp and up depending on buffet choice, includes tax, & gratuity
- Nautica Queen - Cleveland - approx. $45 pp dinner & dancing
....Note: some of the above Fri. & Sat. night locations already have entertainment, either shows, or music, so we have not incorporated how much it would be additional to add a DJ or band. An estimate would be approx. $500 for the evening, so figure $5 per person if you would want to add this entertainment to K of C, Kozmos, or Legends that does not have it included. Or we can just go without. _____________________________________________________________ 5. >Sunday family get together - Pavilion rental fee will be paid out of the class fund The class fund will also cover the costs of paper plates, napkins, and plastic silverware Each family to bring covered dish to share, and your own beverage (note: alcoholic beverages are not permitted) Activity fees to be paid by the individual. Clearwater Park - Hartville approx. $8 pp for swimming swimming, water slide, diving board Sluggers & Putters - Canal Fulton pay as you play Available: miniature golf - $4 per game driving range - $4, $6, $8 buckets Indy cars - fee $?? (not sure how much) walking distance to ice cream stand drivers license & $20 deposit required for all boat rentals Pedal boats - $5 per hour pontoon boat rides - fee $20 per hour for group Saunders Wildlife Center nearby - free Baylor Beach - Navarre (US93 & St. Rt. 62) $5 pp to enter swimming, slides, barrel, top fishing - may be a fee, not sure Massillon Community Center - indoors with kitchen swimming - fee $? (not sure how much) ____________________________________________________________ Raffle baskets & 50/50 drawings will be planned each event to raise our class funds -- see use of our funds above on our family day. Please contact me if you have an item to donate to a raffle basket or if you would like to donate an entire raffle basket. No monies are being planned to be spent on decor this year. I believe the location choices will be sufficient in their own decor. Typically, I also make a donation from the class fund to the alumni association since they graciously provide their addresses with us. We normally charge approx. $2 over the cost of the dinner to cover mailings, however, this year I believe we have enough in the fund to cover our postage & mailing costs so we will only need to charge the exact amount for dinners. If you know of anyone from our class that is not on this distribution list, please either forward this to them, or make them aware of the info. and give them my contact number. ~thank you! Remember, all pricing is approximate and subject to change. Many of the locations also have websites that you may do a search on for more information. 330-699-2622 (home - leave a message) [Submitted by Vickie Layton Roe]

 | 25 year Reunion scheduled for summer 2007 | | | |
 | I am in the process of gathering pricing for the suggestions of locations for our reunion next year. I will send out an email to those on my address listing -- please email me if you are not on my list and would like to be.
What I can tell you: Our reunion will be during the summer months A Friday night mixer Saturday dinner Sunday family event/picnic Many requested a new location, which I agree it would be nice to make a change and have something special for our 25 year.
I have had requests stating keeping it close to Massillon so they could drink, to having something formal. My comments: If you find it just an excuse to drink, please get together with your friends to drink on your own. I am not working to organize a party for you. Personally I enjoy formals, however, I do not want to exclude those less fortunate, which is why I continue to push for a Friday night mixer and a Sunday family day. Saturday may turn into something more formal, based on the responses -- your votes.
I try to keep pricing minimal, enough to cover the event, and the postage & mailings.
I should have pricing by the end of July and will send an email with options at that time.

 | As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much,
and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin. | |
 | Hello former classmates! I would like to call a meeting for anyone interested in attending to present plans, ideas, and offer assistance in planning our 25 year class reunion. The proposed meeting will take place, Sat., June 17th beginning at 2:00 pm at my apartment building. Call for directions: Check the Forum For Contact information If the weather is good, we will be poolside, so bring your swimsuit if you like. In case of inclement weather, we will be in the lobby. Proposed ideas thus far include: a more formal dinner/dance - location options? a Sunday picnic - location options? We will be deciding upon a date to hold our reunion also. If you are not able to attend, and would like to have your voice heard, I'd love to hear it! Either give me a call, drop me an -mail, or more personal snail mail to the above address. On e-mail, make sure to put, 'WHS Class of 1982 reunion plans' in the subject so my spam will not intercept the correspondence. I hope to see many of you next month!
